back to teaching for real

So I haven't been REALLY teaching for the past 4 weeks or so...Before I went away I was watching a movie with all the classes, and then I went away, and then we had the school festival, so it's been a while since I've had a full day of classes. I forgot how much fun actually teaching could be. Here are a few samples.

This week I've been taking a vote to see where the students think the best food in the world is from. In every class, the winner has been obvious: Korea. BUT, in my last class, Italy won! Korea had only 2 votes! I was so proud of my international girls. When that happened, one of the girls (nicknamed Cleoptra from mispelling her English name on the first day) yelled out "Italyyyyyyyyy" and the other girls pointed and said "she from Italy!!" I asked, are you Italian? She responded with a hearty OK, so i did the stereotypical "Mamma mia!" yell back at her. The girls cracked up. And then started singing Mamma Mia by Abba.

Also, when I was showing a picture of crepes, one of the girls tried to read it and it sounded like she was just screaming "crapper!" at me.
