halmoni conversations

so now that i can speak some korean, my halmoni loooves to talk at me. and i mean at me. she doesn't really slow down or clear up her speech for me, so half the time i'm just nodding or making korean agreeing noises (eoh, yeh, neh, etc.). but i noticed one thing she said to me, when she was scolding me for not calling her often enough: "why don't you call me now? you can speak."

i find this hilarious upon reflection. she doesn't say "oh, good, you're learning korean," she says "oh good, you learned to talk." english doesn't count.

today work ends at 1, and it's a long weekend! I'll be going to visit my family all day saturday. yay for korean holidays :)
