At the Jeju-do conference, Yoojin, Colby and I rented scooters and drove around Seogwipo city by ourselves. I clearly looked like a badass.

checking out some of the sights!

And here I am with the famous "stone grandfathers," the guardian gods of Jeju- and also representations of male fertility.

The traditional alcohol and rice cake festival happens every spring in Gyeongju! It started on Saturday and goes through Thursday.

A few other Fulbrighters travelled to Gyeongju to visit me and Matthew and enjoy the festival!

Then the next day we climbed a mountain in Daegu, Mount Palgongsan. At the top there was a Buddha statue with a stone tablet resting on the top of his head (I'll post pictures of it later), carved at the behest of Queen Seondeok, after whom my school is named! Cool!
Here's me and Jen near the top of the mountain!

Coming down, through the colorful lanterns that mean Buddha's birthday is coming up.
