monday, tuesday, wednesday (중)

On Monday night I went to badminton with the teachers for the first time. I was embarrassingly bad. On the bright side, they told me to continue coming and they would help me learn. Also, Gayoung, our friend the middle school math teacher who is a beast who teaches taekwondo in her spare time, invited me to her 3 hour long "sport dance" class in a few weeks. I think it might kill me, but I'm definitely going to try it! also instead of playing badminton for a while, i ran laps around the track. The whole setup is really relaxed.

Tuesday: during the day Matthew and I brought our instruments to the English Lounge to read through the arrangement of the school song that we're planning to play at the school's 60th Anniversary Festival in May. He invited Mr. Kim and Mr. Park into the lounge to listen, which was fun, but it got even better when Mr. Park grabbed the witch's hat that is still sitting on my desk from Halloween, sat down at matthew's computer, and started composing. "Actually, it's just like math," he announced when matthew explained the different note values. Then he wrote a one-line song dubbed "The Doodie Song" by Doodie (his English nickname- I know, hilarious) which, he explained repeatedly, is a very sad song. "Actually, it's very sad." He sat there for about five minutes humming at the computer before the one-line melody for solo oboe was finished. Matthew is saving it forever.

Wednesday: still in progress. updates later.

Tomorrow we leave for Jeju! Wow!
