chuncheon!

this is the building where we have classes.

Here is a pond in Chuncheon, the city where I'll be spending the next 6 weeks. Yesterday we arrived at around 10, unpacked in a blur and immediately started orientation activities (meaning being talked at in a classroom for several hours). I've eaten 2 meals in Korea, both accompanied by rice and kimchi (not that I expected anything different). I put myself to bed last night before 8 am New York time (9pm here) and woke up at 5 am here. My schedule is so off! I feel like I haven't even slept, i just dreamed I was sleeping.

After orientation activities, we took a "tour of the campus" with some Korean students in the English Club at Kangwon National University (for some reason called the KEY Club: Kangwon English Yard). Our "tour" was more an exploration of the town than the campus, because we were insistent that we needed to buy toiletries. We were successful in our endeavors and also found some other interesting places: here are some pictures! * see above, I haven't yet figured out how to format this blog correctly, I guess.
Some of them are of the campus, and some of the town.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to take some time and see exactly how to format posts and pictures. At this point, though, I need to go and get ready for breakfast, language placement testing, and more jetlagged craziness during orientation. I can't wait until my body's adjusted and I stop acting like a grump.
